I do research for individuals, groups, and organizations. My areas of expertise include:

Exhibit Development

I undertake most aspects of exhibit development (not including physical design), either individually or as a unified project, including :

  • Conceptual plan
  • Curatorial services
  • Artifact and image identification and acquisition
  • Labels and text
  • Assistance with installation
  • Interactive components
  • Educational supplements

I can develop object and image-based interpretations in a variety of formats, including:

  • Large scale, gallery based shows
  • Smaller scale, stationary or traveling programs for display in small galleries, lobbies, or classrooms
  • Realia or trunk-based artifact, image, and document programs for use in schools, camps, and other educational settings

I am experienced in working both independently and with an exhibit committee.

Writing

From brochures to books, I write content for a variety of formats and on a broad range of subjects , including:

  • Narrative histories of individuals, groups, and organizations
  • Articles for both academic and popular publications
  • Labels and text for art and history exhibits
  • Educational and interpretive material focusing on history, art, or material culture
